Indo-pakistan war of 1947-48 : Check History of Indian Defence.
Result : Indian victory
Casualties and Loses : Indian ~> 1100+ soldiers killed.
Pakistan ~> 6000+ soldiers killed.
Details :
The partition of India and Pakistan was bad gift by " Louis Mountbattn ". There was an agreement of British government that after partition they will not take part in any type of conflicts taken place between these two countries. Maharaja Hari Singh wished to make Kashmir Independent but Pakistan needed Kashmir in to get bright future. So,they took help of local kabilas and sent them to Kashmir. Kabilas started looting and destruction of whole Jammu and Kashmir.
Maharaja Hari Singh didn't had lot of time left. so, they asked India for help. India told to make a deal that was if Maharaja Hari Singh agrees to make Jammu and Kashmir of India only then India will help to save kashmir.
The moment Hari Singh agreed Indian airforce and Indian army step to flight kabilas. Indian army had to land in Srinagar and fight kabilas entering Kashmir. But they had no idea that kabilas has reached Baramulla and started looting the city. And kabailis had Srinagar as there next target which was not much far from them.
But at the time of looting Baramulla kabailis didn't had space to put there precious loot. so, they returned to there village in order to keep there loot in there house. These gave Indian army a lot of time to set up strategies and camp site in Kashmir.
when soldiers reached Baramulla whole town was looted, empty, and destroyed. It was a drastic situation. After all these Indian army decided to throw a war on Kabailis until that message of arrival of Indian army in Kashmir reached Pakistan and there army departed for war.
It was a legendary situation in whole country bravery along with anxiety.
Real Heros of war : Now it was time for legends and my hero to show there power. They were,

> Gen. M.S. Thimaya. and more......
> Brig. Usman khan :- A middle class Uttar Pradesh Family person. Who was invited by Pakistan to become chief of pakistan army. But his love for country rejected that offer and he was to give his life for India. India is lucky to have him and Kashmir is in Indian Map because of him.
>Gen. M.S. Thimaya :- He is my favorite army officer of Indian army. while whole country was facing dangerous weapons of America and soldies of Pakistan. General M.S. Thimaya came up with a idea of win. In the war ground zoh-jihla pass was highest pick with 13,000 ft high and covered with snow. the idea of general Thimaya was to climb tanks and bring them to zoh-jihla pass which was captured by Pakistan. These idea was bring to reality and these was the sign of Indian army.
Border Road Organisation [BRO] started building roads on zoh-jihla pass they made 8km road in 6hrs and after about 15 days long journey Indian tanks reached zoh-jihla pass when pakistani officers saw Indian Tanks they immediate reported there base.
Pakistani officer : Hello,base... Indian tanks are at zoh-jihla . I repeat Indian Tank are at zoh-jihla pass...
Pakistani base : What.. officer are you drunk in morning?
These was situation of pakistani officers when Indian army showed there bravery.
